The customer that bought the “Egret at Novato Flats” TV cabinet, was so pleased with it that they then ordered a custom built cabinet for a 55″ TV. After a diligent design process, involving many iterations, this is the design we arrived at. The woods used in the marquetry are walnut burl, holly, chestnut, cherry, maple, grey harewood, and fumed eucalyptus (the dark border). The chestnut veneer, which is used to represent the beach in the picture, must have been from a hundred year old log, since all chestnut harvested since about 1920 has wormholes. The structure of the cabinet is cherry.
